Follow me to this super tough, fun leg workout. It takes less than 25 minutes to work on building legs of steel...
This workout is 3 rounds of 4 different exercises. They are:
10 pistol squats 20 weighted jump lunges 10 plank rows - pushup - overhead press 20 jump squat + leg lift MODIFICATIONS: -If you can't do pistol squats, go halfway/as far down as you can, or do the roll back to pistol. Help yourself stand up with your hands as much as needed. -If you can't do jump lunges with the added weight, just do regular bodyweight jump lunges. -If you don't have weights, hold plank for a few seconds instead of doing the rows, then do a pushup, jump your feet forward and stand up. You can raise your arms overhead and add a hop for extra cardio. -If you can't do the jump squat and leg lift, take the jump out and just do a regular squat and leg lift. And don't worry about how high you get your leg, don't try to match my height. I'm just doing what is comfortable for and comes naturally to me. Go as high as is comfortable for you.
It took me just over 22 minutes to get through the 3 rounds. Let me know how long it takes you and how much fun you have, or if you were dying for it to end.
I wanted to get this workout up yesterday, but I had a very exciting concert to attend last night and got super preoccupied by my excitement. I couldn't focus on anything else. Jim (boyfriend asked that I refer to him by name, so Jim = boyfriend) and I saw a band I've loved since I was in junior high and it really was such an incredibly cathartic and beautiful experience. It felt like coming home. I waited literally half my life to see them, and it was made even more momentous by sharing it with someone who loves them just as much as I do. And the beginnings of our relationship and love were forged upon our shared passion for music (and this band), so it was a really special night. I'm still feeling warm and fuzzy about everything today. While I'd love to ramble endlessly about this, as music is the one thing that rivals (and perhaps exceeds) my love and dedication to health and fitness, this isn't really the place for it. I'm working on a lot of exciting new things for the site, so I'll hope you'll stick with me through this journey. I promise I won't disappoint :)
