This routine focuses on really warming up the legs and opening up the hips and quads to help you get into a full split much more easily. This workout has variations of traditional yoga poses throughout. If any of them are too challenging, stick to the traditional poses. Don't ever go so far outside your comfort zone that you risk hurting yourself. There are many modifications and options for different poses included during the routine, so anyone can make this work them, and we can all do this together. You need just under 40 minutes, come try it with me...
These are the essentials for working out with me. For this workout I use a yoga strap for the overhead grip lord of the dance pose. If you can't get into a full split yet, you may want to place a yoga block under your front hamstrings for support, and I use 2 yoga blocks for supported corpse pose at the end. But you can manage just fine without them if you don't have them. You can use a belt that fastens securely in place of the yoga strap, and you can even use a rolled up towel or firm pillow in place of the yoga block when working on your split.

This really worked deep into my hips, making it easy to get into a split. And I can't just drop into a split without properly warming up and stretching first, so if this works for me, it can definitely work for you too. Give it a try and leave me a comment letting me know how you like it.
