My new yoga for the weekend won't leave you with the aftereffects of a hangover either. Win win. This was a very relaxing, stretching routine. You really spend time working on opening up and creating more space in the hips which feels so amazing. A lot of us hold tension in our hips, so releasing that can be an incredible relief. Come unwind with me to see what I mean...
This routine takes just under an hour, and it's well worth finding the time for. It is:
3 sun salutations warrior 1 warrior 2 warrior 3 bridge wheel plough shoulderstand seated forward bend crow wide standing forward bend with shoulder stretch double leg raises fish to extended leg fish cobra to full cobra locust pigeon to king pigeon deep squat into garland splits revolved abdomen one leg folded forward bend corpse NOTE: If any of these poses are too challenging or feel too difficult for you, please do an easier modification. Be safe, you will see me push myself perhaps a bit too far at times, do not push yourself to do the same, especially not just because I did. Let me be the only dummy. Be safe, don't hurt yourself. I promise to be more careful and do the same, I have to know my limits too. Practice what you preach.
I hope you feel as relaxed as I do after this routine. Pace yourself, progression will come. I need to do the same. Consistency is key, not pushing yourself beyond your limits. Our bodies will get there, we have to patient and not rush them. Good things come to those who wait. Cliche, but still pretty accurate.
