But the more you put into it, the more you'll get out of it. It's just like anything in life, the more effort you put into something, the better the results; whether that be with studying for a test, working on a project, or in this case pushing yourself as much as you can every day in your workouts. Strive to do your best and be proud of your efforts as well as your achievements.
Today's workout is...
5 minutes of cardio and abs:
3 knee hugs 3 burpees 4 side knee tucks 3 burpees 3 v ups 3 burpees I show modifications at the beginning of the video for if any of these exercises are too challenging for you. Do what you have to do to make it work for you.
I completed almost 3 and half rounds. Let me know how you did.
Anyone else love burpees as much as I do? Nothing quickly gets your heart rate up quite like burpees. I know they're challenging, but I never feel more energized than after doing a workout with some burpees. Burpees really force you to breathe deeply and not just take in lots of nice, fresh oxygen, but more importantly to expel all the old carbon dioxide. This new, clean air and increased blood flow throughout the body is a great pick-me-up, especially midday when you feel your energy dipping but don't have time for a nap. This is a great time to do a quick 5 minute workout and give yourself a boost for another few hours, until you can finally relax later in the day. This is also gentler on your body than an extra coffee or energy drink, the caffeine from which can ruin your sleep at night. Believe me, I love my coffee too, but I have a cut off time of 3 o'clock; no more after that. It's pointless if it doesn't perk me up during the day and then I pay for it at 2am when I'm wide awake and can't sleep. What good is that doing anyone? I never have this problem with exercise; as long as you don't workout like an hour before bed, it's not gonna keep you up. Caffeine takes longer to exit your system than the benefits of a workout. Exercise helps you sleep so much more restfully. Plus you save yourself excess extra calories from sugar by skipping that extra coffee; because let's be real, how many of you are freaks like me and drink your coffee black? Probably not too many, but correct me if I'm wrong! We could all do with less sugar though, especially when it's in liquid form. There will definitely be more on my feelings about sugar very soon. Until then, find 5 minutes for me and give this workout a go this afternoon (or sometime this weekend). Tell me that didn't feel more energizing than coffee!
