Today I happily noticed an improvement in my upper body strength when I was working on pull ups, push ups, and handstands. I am really really pleased about this because I've been doing a lot of upper body workouts the past few weeks. Feeling and utilizing this strength motivates me to get creative and put together some of my own upper body workouts for all of us to try together. In the meantime, I have a new yoga workout for this weekend...
This is a relaxing, stretching routine with some good backbends that, with practice, really help to stretch and improve the flexibility of your spine. This also improves the strength of your back and body overall. You can't go wrong working on flexibility, just listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard. With time and practice, your muscles easily become so much more pliable. Try this workout with me and see what I mean, it's only 30 minutes.
Let me know how you felt after trying this workout. I still want to put together some more advanced yoga routines, but I need more practice myself yet. In the next few weeks/months though hopefully I will be able to share that. Try this routine sometime this weekend, or even several times this weekend and tell me you don't feel more relaxed after. I'm gonna keep practicing and I hope you will too.
