Today's workout is perfect for when you feel too busy to keep up with your workouts, like during the holiday season. This only takes 15 minutes, less if you go faster than me, and it's a bodyweight workout; you need no extra equipment or weights, just you, so no excuses! Come get it done with me and then get back to your decorating or baking (or whatever else you need to do)...
This workout is 4 rounds of:
5 burpees (with pushup)
10 pistol squats
15 jump squats
20 jump lunges
If you can't do pistol squats, do the very fun roll back pistol modification. Or if you don't like those, you can use a chair to help yourself or just go halfway down/as deep as you can. Do not skip this workout over the pistols! Use this as an opportunity to work on them.
This felt like it took no time at all and was really enjoyable. I really felt the burn in my quads (front thigh) from the pistols and jump lunges. Let me know how you did and how you like it. I'm going to try to keep most of the workouts short and simple for the rest of the year to help take the guesswork out for the holidays. I know the biggest issues are time, exercises being too complicated or advanced, or requiring additional equipment that you don't have access to or feel comfortable using. So I'm gonna work to create short, simple, and effective workouts for everyone to be able to squeeze in to even the busiest of days. You'll feel so much better if you stay consistent with your workouts even if you intend to indulge and really enjoy yourself for the rest of the year. Continuing to exercise will help keep you from overindulging and negate some of the damage if you do. There's no downside, you have the time, I won't keep you long. You make time to shower and brush your teeth every day, right? Your workouts should be just as habitual. And they can be, I'll show you how.
