Full disclosure: it's been a rough week. I didn't feel like doing a new yoga routine, or anything at all for that matter. I've felt defeated, distressed, and incredibly anxious, and I don't typically struggle with anxiety. My hormones have really been coming for me. But somehow I made myself do today's workout, and I found myself to have so much drive, determination, and focus on the task at hand that after, I was ready and eager to complete this yoga routine. I created it with physically working on balance poses in mind, but it turned more into finding a state of balance and peace inside yourself as you work through the sequence. I hope it helps you as much as it helped me...
This relaxing routine takes less than an hour. Try it with me, this is my favorite routine thus far. It is:
3 sun salutations warrior 2 triangle half moon lizard bridge to one legged bridge plough shoulderstand wheel extended puppy pose tree pigeon lord of the dance crow garland legs up the wall to legs wide apart lying spinal twist supported corpse
This took me 49 minutes and I really felt so amazing after. I hope you feel the same, leave me a comment and let me know.
I really had to dig deep today. It is not always easy to get things done, even if they're mandatory things or things you really need to do. Pushing yourself through that is not always an option. But if you can summon up even the smallest amount of will to try, you will feel better after doing so, because you will have accomplished something. No matter how great or small the accomplishment is that you achieved, you still did that when the odds were stacked against you and everything felt impossibly difficult and unbearable. You have to tap into that tiny morsel of wanting to try, no matter how deeply buried and muffled the sound of it may be. Listen and let it empower you and push yourself. This doesn't work every day, but the days it does are amazing triumphs. If it doesn't work one day, keep trying, eventually there will be a day that it will, I promise you that. It might not be right away, it might not be consistent days in a row, but it will happen. Keep trying and keep moving forward. Doing the best you can every day is always enough. Have a great weekend everyone.
